THE AMAZING CITRUS BROS!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 PINEAPPLE
1 ORANGE

This one is so simple I can't believe I hadn't tried it before! The amazing citrus bros put the hammer down and win the jackpot at the circus! These brothers bring out the best of each other, and dont even think about picking a fight with them! A sweeter pineapple and a meaner orange!

ELECTRIC SLIME

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 CUCUMBER
1/2 PEAR
1/2 LIME
1 INCH CUBE OF GINGER

Look familiar? This is the old snappy slime making a comeback! Adding some pear sweetens the deal, and a little less lime and cucumber make it a little less snap like a trap and more like an electric current! Its like prickling your tongue on a tasty cactus!

SHARP SWORDS!

INGREDIENTS:

1 PLASTIC THING OF RASPBERRIES

1 LARGE ORANGE

* be sure to put the raspberries in first, since they are small the larger orange will push out all the juice that would otherwise get stuck inside!

OH my GOODNESS this is FANTASTIC! The raspberries have such a sweet punch that makes the citrus even sharper! This drink is like a knife that makes your tongue bleed laughter and wonder instead of blood and tears.

My camera broke, but once I get a new one there will be pictures of juice once more!

COOL SPLENDOR!

INGREDIENTS:

1 PEACH
1 LARGE ORANGE

+ ICE!

THIS TASTES SO GOOD! The peach makes the oranges so creamy and smooth, its amazing. Its like an elegant ball of cool splendor rolling in my mouth! REALLY THATS WHAT ITS LIKE!

Sorry there haven't been as many pictures here, my camera broke!

EMBRACE THE COLD!

Not really a recipe! Summer is a bad time for me, it's been too hot for my brain to create new juice recipes, usually I just eat watermelon! So Ive been juicing older recipes all the time. Hopefully someone smart like me will just entirely cover the sun with solar panels and power my power juicer, but until then I just rediscovered ICE! I was being a juice snob before and only drinking what came out of the juicer, but lately I can't have a drink without ICE! EMBRACE THE COLD!

VERY GRAPE

INGREDIENTS:

2 HANDFULS OF GRAPES
1 SQUARE INCH CUBE OF GINGER

I made a MORDOR drink yesterday, and had about a thousand grapes leftover and no other things to juice today. Grapes are so refreshing, I thought, why not make a drink of just them? Its like drinking champagne without the bubbles! I really want to get a seltzer machine so I can make bubbly grape juice! Totally fresh, especially with the ginger snap!

DARK MAGIC

I can't believe I hadn't thought of this before now!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 PINEAPPLE
1 WHOLE PLASTIC THING OF BLACKBERRIES

This drink combines two of my favorite things into one delicious drink! The secret is to place the berries into the juicer first, and the large chucks of pineapple will clear the remaining juice from the smaller berries as they are going through, blending the flavors together! The flavor surrounds your mouth like a dark cloud and fills it with richness that only an evil wizard could conjure!

CANTALOUPE!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 CANTALOUPE

Often I'm invited to raging house parties, but really I would rather stay at home and have a lovely time one on one with a close friend. This drink is one on one time, it tastes exactly like cantaloupe, and cantaloupe is awesome! I haven't tasted one in so long, its good to catch up with an old friend! This refreshing drink has almost no pulp, and is fantastic for breakfast!

SHOOBY TAYLOR

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 CUCUMBER
2 APPLES
1 SQUARE INCH CUBE OF GINGER

This drink has a surprising about of pep! I used half a cucumber because a whole cucumber can be overwhelming, and although cucumber is refreshing it can taste bland in large amounts. The snap of the apple ginger combo really tastes great with the cucumber freshness, its like they started a barbershop quartet and are singing in my mouth!

POINTY STICKS

I just mixed it up by throwing some kiwis in my breakfast drink instead of pears, and this drink is totally pointy!!

INGREDIENTS:

2 PEELED KIWIS
1 APPLE
1 CARROT

Once you peel the kiwis you get so much more juice out of them! Im used to eating them whole, like saturn eating his children, but maybe saturn should have peeled and juiced his children instead of eating them whole to get all of the juice out! He would never have been fooled into eating a rock instead of zeus if he savored the flavor! That rock would have ruined his juicer and he would have seen the trick for what it was right away!

SOFT FIRE

This is a special update from my parents house! A special occasion calls for special ingredients! My parents were awesome enough to BORROW A POWER JUICER from one of their friends so I could juice while visiting! I was also able to put in a special request for fancy ingredients! YES!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 PINEAPPLE
1/2 PLASTIC THING OF STRAWBERRIES

Sharp like a pointy yellow pineapple and sweet like the strawberries, this juice turns out a pinkish orange like a soft glowing fire!

ROYAL ORANGE

I dont know whats going on with orange prices right now, but oranges are FIVE FOR A DOLLAR! AWESOME!

2 PEELED ORANGES
1 PEAR

This is my new favorite breakfast drink! Why, just adding the classy pear to orange juice can really transform a pauper's orange juice into a breakfast juice fit for the queen of england! And they say old ladies drink grapefruit! BAH!

COMPLIMENTARY COLORS

INGREDIENTS:

1 PLASTIC THING OF BLUEBERRIES
2 ORANGES

WHOA! Ok, so I've had orange juice before, and I think most people have, and I have always considered it bad flavored and riddled with chemicals. Pasteurization totally kills anything healthy in juice, and then chemicals are added into juice to replace the nutrients that once were there, making it taste like garbage. If you drink as much juice as I do, its easy to taste. Thats why even the health drinks try to do as little pastuerization as possible, such as flash pasteurization, in hopes to keep juice tasting like juice while still satisfiying the corporate government. BUT LO! I have learned that oranges are an awesome fruit by juicing them myself! I will never hold archaic government actions against a fruit again!

What better way to celebrate this color fruit than with its complimentary? Oranges and blues! These colors and flavors are natural buddies! They already hang out all the time and are awesome friends, this is the logical next step! Its so wonderful, its almost impossible to be aware enough of the situation to even name it. Complimentary colors together as one!

SUPER POSITIVE

I have been searching for the right combo to go with peaches, and I FINALLY found something that works!

INGREDIENTS:

2 PEACHES (PITTED)
1 WHOLE PLASTIC THING OF BLUEBERRIES

Peaches are so sensitive and quiet! Every time I tried to mix them into a party they would just sulk in the corner and go unnoticed. And I know they arent losers! When its just me and peaches, we have the best time hanging out in the sun. They just need a quieter party, and I finally found a match: blueberries! I love hanging out with blueberries, they are filled with super positive B vitamins that always make me feel good. (I am biased towards vitamins that share letters in my name and also turn your pee neon yellow!) When placed together, the super positive blueberries bring out the party in the peaches!

Thanks to Susan for the suggestion!

NUCLEAR COOLANT!

OK THIS JUST BLEW MY MIND!

INGREDIENTS:
1 CUCUMBER
1/2 PINEAPPLE (SKINNED)

THIS IS SUPER COOL! I had half a pineapple left over and decided to add a different ingredient to it than yesterday. A thought passed through my brain, why not chill out the spikey pineapple flavor with its opposite, a cool cucumber? This seems so obvious in retrospect, but they are totally different! Who would expect a thin, slick and green vegetable to hang out with a big, spikey, yellow fruit! Its like a tiny dog and a big cat being best friends! ABSURD! But yet, when placed together, who could ever imagine otherwise?! The perfect pair! Just as opposites make a great cartoon, so also a fantastic juice!

PINEAPPLE RAG!

I was listening to one of my favorite musical compositions, "Pineapple Rag" by Scott Joplin, and realized how disgusting it would be to name a drink "Pineapple Rag"!

INGREDIENTS:

2 KIWIS (SKINNED)
1/2 PINEAPPLE (SKINNED)

Now, rather than just post a recipe for pineapple juice, which any turkey could figure out, I decided to add some kiwi to my tropical paradise to make it a proper recipe! The punky kiwis are the perfect band mates for the spiky pineapple, they all play the same style. I have been trying to properly juice kiwis for a while, and the secret I just learned is that you have to skin kiwis before juicing them! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

BLOOD!

To celebrate a heart holiday, I decided to try a food Ive never ventured into before : BEETS! I was terrified of them, they look like rocks that bleed when you cut them! But FEAR IS THE MINDKILLER!

INGREDIENTS:
3 SMALL BEETS
1 BLOOD ORANGE
1 APPLE

Since I was so scared of beets, I decided to add a BLOOD ORANGE! This is also a scary food, because oranges should have orange juice, but the blood oranges drink other fruits blood so they have red juice! I juiced this at a party last week and it still tastes like an orange even though its a vampire! It makes sense to throw a vampire blood orange with the beets who are full of blood. Now its like a horror movie! The beets were less scary because they were being slain by the vampire orange. I added an apple because I wasnt sure how much juice I would need. Maybe the apple is the hero of the juice story who slays the vampire orange! After repeating FEAR IS THE MIND KILLER I gave it a taste, and it was good! Beets aren't scary at all!

Big thanks to Jennifer who gave me the blood orange since I don't know where to buy them yet!

DAZZLER!

SNAP! Celery is my new ingredient of the week! I've heard it told that celery has no nutritional value, or that it takes more energy to digest it than its worth. Well that sounds like a bunch of rumors coming from jealous fruits and vegetables to me! I bet celery doesnt care what other fruits and vegetables think, it just does its thing!

INGREDIENTS:

2 PEARS
2 STALKS OF CELERY
1 INCH CUBE OF GINGER

I ran out of carrots early this week munching on them while watching DARKON! and needed something to go with my pear juice! Celery was up to the challege! The pear has such a classy taste, but classy can be uptight, and I like to party! The celery adds a little snap! Its amazing how celery juice still tastes like your snapping into it! So now if the pear is all classed up to go to the ball, the celery is the fancy outfit that dazzles everyone inside!

MORDOR!

A fantastic new discovery! DARK AS THE CLOUDS OF MORDOR! This is the sort of drink a dark wizard would love!

INGREDIENTS:

1 PLASTIC THING OF BLACKBERRIES
1 HANDFUL OF SEEDLESS GRAPES

This was a complete impulse, since I passed by a store that had blackberries for sale for a mere dollar! I couldn't resist! I decided to try some grapes with it, since I've never juiced them before either, and I thought it would be funny to juice two bunches of many little things. I put them all together down the chute, and LO! THE BLACKBERRIES SWARMED OVER THE CLEAR GRAPE COLOR LIKE THE ARMIES OF MORDOR, LEAVING A BLACK LIQUID WHERE CRYSTAL PURITY REMAINED! The snappy blackberry flavor is complemented by the smooth grape taste, you get both flavors clashing for victory in your mouth!

STORMS OF SATURN

After a fierce battle with the juicer, I bring forth a new drink! The STORMS OF SATURN!

INGREDIENTS:
1 PITTED MANGO
1 PLASTIC THING OF BLUEBERRIES
1 WHOLE APPLE

So mangos are crazy, and love jumping around in the juicer, which was a surprise for me! Ive setup my juicer to pour into my glass at an angle because the glass is too tall to fit underneath, and if the juicer is bouncing around the glass inevitably moves! In a flurry of action, I emptied the plastic thing of blueberries! Which was also exciting, because the blueberries didnt all go in the shoot and made a mess on the floor. And still did not settle the storm! I quickly sliced an apple in two and threw it in, and apples have a ton of juice Ive learned. I have had an irrational fear of juicing apples because I read once on a conspiracy internet website that appleseeds have arsnic in them! So I expected this drink to kill me. But it was delicious!

After contemplating what to name it, I looked on my saturn poster, and it dawned on me how the storms of saturn are such ferocious beasts with the power of 400 earth storms but appear as wispy clouds on my cool poster, and how my delicious juice has wispy clouds between flavors which hide the mess I made in the kitchen. JUICE FRENZY!

SNAPPY SLIME II

Here is an extra post this week, since it isn't a new recipe, just a variation on an older one! This is still the snappy slime, but instead of using a lemon, I used a lime!

INGREDIENTS:

1 WHOLE CUCUMBER
1 LIME SLICED IN TWO HALVES
1 SQUARE INCH OF GINGER

Besides keeping with the green theme, this is a much better choice! Lime is a little brother to lemon, and provides just enough kick to spice up the cucumber without stealing the show. This is my new way to roll with SNAPPY SLIME!

January 15, 2010

REFRESHING!

This drink tastes great! This is my favorite breakfast drink right now, and breakfast is my favorite meal!

INGREDIENTS:

1 WHOLE PEAR
2 CARROTS
1 INCH CUBE OF GINGER

Two carrots that look like standard carrots will be just right to compliment the flavor of the delicious pear! Baby carrots don't have any juice, and a single huge carrot overpowers the pear and just tastes like carrot. Despite drinking boxed carrot juice everyday for a year and liking it, I realize now they totally add other juices to it, just carrot juice doesn't actually taste good. This pear/carrot combo is a real slammer, and the ginger gives it just a little zing! DELICIOUS!

January 10, 2010

SNAPPY SLIME

This is the first juice recipe Ive made that didn't taste like garbage juice! Someday I will post a garbage juice recipe! But for now let's talk about this beast:

1 CUCUMBER
1 LEMON
1 SQUARE INCH OF GINGER

Cucumbers have a ton of juice, which is awesome, but its kind of bland just drinking a cucumber. I added a whole lemon to it to give it some kick, but the kick was pretty strong. The cube of ginger mellows out the lemon kick while upping the detox power. Not bad! Although I can juice whole lemons, I've been cutting the lemons in half first so the juicer doesn't have to have a shaking battle with the rind. Ive been putting each half a lemon before the cucumber and half after to distribute the juice without shaking it up at the end.

JACK LALANNE POWER JUICER

This is the POWER JUICER that my parents gave me this year. My 2010 resolution is to juice everyday! This gift is quickly moving up my list of most awesome things my parents have given me outside of actual living life.

This journal is a record of my juicing recipes, a new recipe each week. Feel free to comment so that I can come up with new exciting ideas!

In case you want to try these recipes at home and they taste horrible, maybe its because you aren't using a Jack LaLanne POWER JUICER! Or maybe they just stink, and you should tell me how to make them better!

LET THE JUICING BEGIN!
